Here are some great tips to things to see and do while you are in the Italian school in Rome.

Trastevere – Rome as a film by Fellini Washing lines filled with clothes are extended across the street, the small boys play ball, and the facades are both earth-colored and broken – but none of it is for the sake of the tourists’. The old workers’ and bohemian district of Trastevere, which lies south of the Tiber unfolds in the evening when the wine bars and jazz clubs fill. The neighborhood is also famous for the beautiful church of Santa Maria in Trastevere.

Trevi Fountain – toss a coin and return to Rome Anita Ekberg bathed in the Trevi Fountain in the Italian film director Federico Fellini’s film, La Dolce Vita. Today there is a tradition of throwing coins into the fountain, which depicts Neptune and nearly fills the little square, where it is located. To be more precise. You throw the coins over your left shoulder – then you will be sure to return to the fountain. The fountain was built in 1762 and is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome.

The Sistine Chapel – Vatican Museums crown jewel The decoration of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel was conducted by star artist Michelangelo in 1508-1512, and he has also created the famous doomsday picture behind the altar. The chapel also was decorated by other famous Renaissance artists like Botticelli and Raphael. The chapel is not just for show. It is used when a new pope must be elected. Cardinals are confined here, until the decision is made, after which a thin plume indicates that there has been elected a new pope.

Colosseum – struggles between life and death in ancient Rome Brutal weapons and fist fights over life and death between muscular slaves and professional fighters. The disturbing gladiator matches were highlights on the world’s largest amphitheater, the Colosseum. Although it in ruins today, it’s exciting to see, hear and imagine who and what has filled the huge stadium out and shed their blood here.
